It's early January, mornings in Fontainebleau are crispy cold, frost covering the ground in the shade when we approach the boulders. Air is dry, everything is quiet.
I joined Alex Megos once again, and we spent a few days in the forrest, doing the usual stuff. Alex climbing some of the hardest problems in the area, despite sub zero temps and myself shooting for Tenaya, both respecting each other, yet it rarely feels like work days.
The brief was to create powerful, authentic images to support the launch of Tenaya's most sensitive high performance climbing shoe campaign. Energy and power, in contrast with soft, winter light and textures of Fontainebleau rock. The challenge was making technical performance feel visceral, while giving Alex enough space to focus on his own climbing.
Grateful to be working with world-class athletes like Alex.
