CLIENT: ARC'TERYX
TALENT: JORDAN CANNON
LOCATION: SMITH ROCK, OREGON, USA
DELIVERABLES: STILLS, VIDEO
Within the climbing circles, Jordan doesn't need much of an introduction. He's climbed three routes in a day on El Capitan in Yosemite Triple on El Cap. Cannon has freed El Cap in a day, made the second ascent of 'Cowboy Direct' (VII 5.13a) on Trango Tower, and repeated 'Wet Lycra Nightmare' (5.13d A0) on the Leaning Tower. But his story is much deeper than that.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Here's some BTS from the photo shoot. Due to long haul flights involved and bag restrictions, I went with the lightweight setup, including just the climbing harness, one jumar and a simple traction device. Not the best setup due to low efficiency on jugging the static line and uncomfortable long stays on the wall, especially when filming, when camera needs to be as steady as possible. Since I only had one chance to film and take stills from above, I took both the cinema Canon C400 equipped with RF 28-70mm f2.0 and Cannon R5 Mark 2 with RF 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM Z for photos.
