Not every day offers the opportunity to join and document Alain Robert, known worldwide as the “French Spiderman,” alongside Seb Bouin, one of the strongest rock climbers of his generation, free soloing in the heart of Paris. This was not merely another of Robert’s iconic ascents in La Défense. It was a rare convergence of two defining figures in climbing, shaped by different eras, disciplines, motivations and united by the same instinct to move freely on vertical terrain. For Bouin, a climber accustomed to pushing the limits of difficulty at the highest grades on rock, this free solo was less about performance than exploration, a deliberate step outside his usual arena, embracing uncertainty, exposure, and the shared language.
